The issue your are facing is beacuse of the Virtual Hardware Version, in vSphere 5 is 8 whereas in vSphere 4.x is 7, You need to downgrade the virtual hardware version to move the VM to vSphere 4.x enviroment
Use Vmware Converter to downgrade the Virutal hardware as this is one of the supported way
