I'm getting an odd error when checking compliance of a host profile, I get com.vmware.profile.hostCacheConfig.EsxcliError, and the host stays in an unknown state.
No matter what I do I cannot clear it. Even deselecting all the sections makes no difference.
The source an destination hosts are identical in hardware, and they are both ESXi 5.5.
Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
tried this against my lab server where I had two host, one with uptime 49 and other with 51, gave the no of days as 50, output came with yes for both host... Looks like its not giving the required output
Did you already verify the checksum for the downloaded installation image, to rule out an issue caused by file corruption?

I open my virtual desktop using VMWare View Client 5.2, Host/Guest OS: XP.
I always open it with the full-screen display option selected.
WMTools installed.
I already solved the problem of the display control panel missing in the virtual desktop with this kb:
Now I can change my virtual desktop resolution between 800x600 and the maximum resolution of my Host, in this case: 1280 x 1024 (actual settings).
The problem is that if I chose the 800x600 resolution (I need this one to use an old/special app) in my virtual desktop, the virtual desktop display change but it does not stretch to fit the sreen, the virtual desktop shows up as a small rectangle in the middle with a big black frame around.
How can I make it to stretch it and fit the sreen???

I have an issue with a host that has disconnected. i removed the host ans when i try to reconnect it comes up with
datastore "store name" conflicts with an existing datastore in the datacenter that has the same url
what will have caused this and how can i get them reconnected?

Thanks we had exactly the same issue. Disks performance approx 300 MB/s, then as soon as these disks were added to Windows 2012r2 cluster as RDM's performance dropped drastically to 10MB/s. There is very little other information about this, apart from this thread. Changing path policy from Round robin to MRU ensured performance was back to approx 300MB/s

Unless I'm misreading it, what you are trying to do is technically impossible.
You cannot mount a partition by 2 operating systems at the same time.
Only one operating system can mount a exFAT partition and that OS must be in control at all times, if it is not then you will get data corruption. The only way to give another operating system access to that same partition is by setting up file and/or network sharing.
This is not a limitation of VMware Fusion, it is possible to have a guest OS directly access your disk.
If you want your guest to give direct access to the RAW partition then at least the whole partition must be owned by that guest OS.
IIRC then the limitation is even a bit more strict in that the whole disk drive must be owned by the guest OS.

Getting 16 GB RAM instead of 8 GB is pretty much always going to make your more happy as buying 8GB RAM at a slightly higher speed.

Since Windows desktop versions like Windows 7 are only able to operate in single-user mode, you will need to clone your Windows 7 VM, so each users has his own VM.

Features like passing through the gyroscope from your host are only supported since VMware Workstation 10.

more is always better (at least when thinking about virtualization and RAM) 
Go for the 16GB modules.
I'd think about it like this: Wenn you got a small amount of 9999 MHz RAM and are out of RAM and need to swap, you will be much slower than having a big amount of 1600 MHz RAM, without the need to swap
